According to Tom Haudricourt on Twitter, the Brewers have released veteran IF Bobby Crosby.
The 33-year-old, who hasn't played in the MLB since 2010, attempted a comeback but slashed just .188/.235/.250 over 16 at-bats. Crosby, the 2004 American League Rookie of the Year, was on a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training.
Over at the Journal-Sentinel, Haudricourt notes that the utility infield herd is thinning out. Jeff Bianchi is injured, and the Brewers are now down to Alex Gonzalez, Taylor Green, and Donnie Murphy.
