Today is Gorman's, a.k.a. the Rally Lobster's, fifth birthday. I don't really have any specific need to tell you that, I just wanted to share one piece of good news in an otherwise depressing day.
The A's celebrated my dog's birthday by roughing up Chris Narveson and the Brewers today, scoring runs in each inning from the second through the seventh in a 9-6 win. Narveson picked up the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits and five walks over just 3.2 innings of work.
The Brewers scored three runs in the fourth on four straight hits and Logan Schafer's steal of home, but it wasn't enough. They mounted a minor rally in the top of the eighth and again in the ninth but it was too late to make a difference in the game outcome.
The Brewers are off tomorrow before playing their final Cactus League home game of the season on Wednesday when they take on half the Royals.
