Roster Moves: Brewers trade Jairo Asencio to Orioles, option Caleb Gindl to Nashville, and place Miguel De Los Santos on the Restricted List

In a busy day with the Kyle Lohse news, a few more transactions happened today.

USA TODAY Sports

In a day dominated by news of the Kyle Lohse signing, the Brewers made a few more moves today.

First of all, MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that the Orioles have acquired Jairo Asencio from the Brewers. The Brewers will either get cash considerations or a player to be named later in the deal. Asencio was signed on a minor league contract during the offseason to compete for a bullpen spot. However, he didn't get a chance to play in spring training due to ongoing visa issues in the Dominican Republic. He finally reported to camp and pitched in a game yesterday against the Rockies. He allowed two runs, a hit, two walks, and did not record an out.

Adam McCalvy also notes a few other transactions from the day. Caleb Gindl was optioned to Nashville, but will remain with the team for the exhibition games against the White Sox at Miller Park. Gindl had a chance at getting a spot on the roster, but with the hot play of a few other players, that spot may have been taken. Over the spring, he was batting .273/.305/.341 after going 2-for-2 in today's game against the Athletics.

Finally, pitcher Miguel De Los Santos was placed on the restricted list due to his ongoing visa issues in the Dominican Republic. With the addition of Kyle Lohse, the Brewers 40-man roster remains at 39 for now.
