Brewers leave Arizona with 6-2 win over Rockies

Kyle Lohse pulls off a decent debut and the minor leaguers do well.

W: Kyle Lohse (1-0)
L: Nick Schmidt (0-1)

HR: Yuniesky Betancourt (2); Tyler Massey (1)

With this game, the Brewers are officially done with spring training in Arizona. Two exhibition games in Milwaukee remain in the preseason.

Kyle Lohse made his spring training debut, pitching 3.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits and walking none while striking out 2. The bad part of that is that he gave up 3 doubles. The rest of the pitchers were brought in from the minor league camp, and presumably the 2013 Nashville Sounds pitching staff. Chris Jakubauskas pitched 1.1 inning, allowing 2 baserunners; Josh Stinson pitched 2 innings and gave up a home run. Michael Olmsted pitched the 8th and Jesus Sanchez finished it out.

The surprise came out of Yuniesky Betancourt, who played a little bit of second base, a little bit of first base, and hit a lot. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double and didn't strike out at all. Jean Segura also had a good day at the plate with a 2 for 4 performance. Lance Roenicke hit a double off of Chris Volstad and Nick Shaw hit a triple off Edgmer Escalona--good job by players facing pitching higher than their current level.
