Box Score

The Brewers weren't very good in exhibition games in Arizona this spring, and now they're 0-1 in games that don't count in Milwaukee. They had just three hits on offense tonight, although one of them was a long home run for Ryan Braun. Alex Gonzalez was the only Brewer to earn his way aboard twice, going 1-for-2 with a walk.

Wily Peralta deserved better tonight. He allowed four runs and lasted just 4.1 innings but only two of those runs were earned. Two runs scored against him in the fourth when Rickie Weeks threw away a prospective double play ball, extending his inning. Peralta threw 81 pitches in the outing and should be ready to pitch as scheduled on Wednesday.

Brandon Kintzler followed Peralta to the mound tonight and allowed a run on four hits over 1.2 innings. Alfredo Figaro's bid to make the roster may have been dampened a bit when he could only record one out in the seventh. Donovan Hand also didn't do himself any favors, though, by allowing a long home run in the ninth.

The Brewers have another exhibition scheduled tomorrow, with Chris Narveson on the mound at 1 pm.
