Last week, reports started coming out that the Brewers were interested in reacquiring Francisco Rodriguez. Today, they have done just that.

Mike Vassalo made the announcment on Twitter that the Brewers have officially signed Rodriguez to a minor-league contract. Todd Rosiak notes that he will report to Maryvale to begin preparing before being assigned to a minor league team, and the Brewers will have 30 days to determine whether he is a fit for the MLB club or not. If he is not, he can become a free agent after those 30 days.

With the Brewers looking for bullpen help, the return of Rodriguez could help a struggling bullpen. There isn't much for details on the deal yet, but it appears to be a low-risk move for the Brewers. If Rodriguez can help the bullpen, the Brewers can add him to the MLB team. If not, the Brewers can let him leave after 30 days to find another opportunity.

Edit: Jon Heyman reports that the deal is worth $2 million plus.
