When your main source of offense is wild pitches, you're not going to win very often. That was the case tonight, as Jean Segura came home on an errant pitch and plated Milwaukee's only run in a 2-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.
The Brewers were largely kept off the board tonight despite good games offensively from Segura, Jonathan Lucroy and Logan Schafer. All three players had multiple hits.
For the second straight start, Tom Gorzelanny had a great outing but wasn't rewarded with a win. He pitched six innings tonight and allowed two runs, both unearned, on just three hits. He walked one and struck out four tonight.
The Brewers had plenty of opportunities to take him off the hook for the loss: They trailed by one run and had runners in scoring position in the sixth, seventh and eighth but could not cross the plate.
Norichika Aoki went 0-for-5 tonight, snapping his hitting streak at nine games.
This series continues tomorrow at 9:10 when Kyle Lohse takes on Randall Delgado.
