The Brewers have decisions to make on their impending free agents.
Once the World Series is done, free agency will officially begin five days following it. The Brewers do have a window right now to negotiate with their own free agents, but the question is if any of them should be brought back. Derek looked through each of the free agents yesterday, making a case for or against each of them. Most of these free agents will be too expensive or not good enough to bring back, but there is one or two that the Brewers should consider re-signing. With decisions on the manager and coaching staff still looming, these decisions won't be made soon. However, once that is figured out, we could hear more about what the Brewers are thinking.
Jonathan Lucroy, Wily Peralta, and Zach Duke all received local awards.
The Milwaukee chapter of the BBWAA released their postseason award choices for the Brewers yesterday. Receiving top honors were Jonathan Lucroy and Wily Peralta, with Zach Duke also taking a couple of awards. Jonathan Lucroy swept the first place votes for team MVP, and also took the Good Guy award for the second straight year. Meanwhile, Wily Peralta was a strong choice for Most Valuable Pitcher for the team. Zach Duke also got into the mix by taking the other two awards, for Unsung Hero and Newcomer of the Year. All three had great seasons, and those awards were well-deserved.
