The good news just keeps coming for Jim Henderson.
Last week the Brewers signed Francisco Rodriguez to a one-year deal but confirmed that Henderson is still the closer, choosing their incumbent closer over one of just two active pitchers with 300 career saves. Today, the Brewers also announced that Henderson is the winner in the voting for the Fans' Choice Bobblehead.
Henderson beat out Wily Peralta and top offseason acquisition Matt Garza for the honor, and all fans will receive a bobblehead in his likeness (give or take any actual resemblance) when the Brewers host the Mets on July 27. Henderson is one of five active Brewers getting a bobble in 2014, joining these players:
- Carlos Gomez on April 27
- Kyle Lohse on May 11
- Scooter Gennett (replacing Norichika Aoki) on June 29
- Jean Segura on August 24
The Brewers will also give away a vintage bobblehead on June 15, a Chorizo bobble on August 10 and a 1974 Robin Yount on September 14.
