Braun, Reynolds remain in lineup as Brewers take on Phillies

Reynolds is getting his second consecutive start against a right-handed pitcher.

After scoring ten runs on Tuesday, the Brewers will throw out the exact same lineup for Wednesday night's game against the Phillies:

1. Carlos Gomez (R) CF
2. Jean Segura (R) SS
3. Ryan Braun (R) RF
4. Aramis Ramirez (R) 3B
5. Jonathan Lucroy (R) C
6. Khris Davis (R) LF
7. Mark Reynolds (R) 1B
8. Scooter Gennett (L) 2B
9. Matt Garza (R) P

Mark Reynolds started yesterday's game against Kyle Kendrick, a right-hander, despite Reynolds being a part of a platoon that should, in theory, see him play only against lefties. Ron Roenicke justified the decision by saying Kendrick was the kind of pitcher that Reynolds could deal with. It appears Roberto Hernandez, also a right-hander, is of the same mold.

Either that, or the Brewers have already lost their confidence in Lyle Overbay after he has started the season 1-13 with two walks. To put it bluntly, Overbay does not seem like he has the ability to start games anymore. After cutting Juan Francisco for him, though, the Brewers will likely give him at least a few more opportunities to show he can still hit. Or, more likely, they'll stick with him regardless of how he hits out of some misguided form of loyalty. Veteran leadership!

Ryan Braun is back in the lineup after socking three home runs yesterday. He got some new padding on the inside of his glove, which appears to be helping out with the whole thumb issue. Here's hoping it allows him to have a few more games like yesterday's.

Matt Garza will make his second start of the season after taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning of his season and Brewers debut against the Braves last week. He ended up pitching eight innings, allowing two walks. He took the loss thanks to a solo Chris Johnson home run and a stagnant Brewers offense. Garza also struck out seven batters during that game.

Garza will be facing the following Phillies' lineup:

1. Ben Revere (L) CF
2. Jimmy Rollins (S) SS
3. Carlos Ruiz (R) C
4. Ryan Howard (L) 1B
5. Marlon Byrd (R) RF
6. Domonic Brown (L) LF
7. Cesar Hernandez (S) 2B
8. Jayson Nix (R) 3B
9. Roberto Hernandez (R) P
