Yesterday's Results
This is one of the few times I'll just the recap speak for itself. If you want to see anything about the Brewers good start, the many challenges, the bullpen fail, the multiple recurring injuries, or anything else, check out the recap.
Light day of news, so we're going straight to the cram session.
Cram Session
- Ryan Braun left last night's game with tightness in his side, and he may have reinjured the oblique that he just spent a few weeks on the DL for.
- Yovani Gallardo is unlikely to make his next start, and Noah went through the list of possible candidates for making his next start.
- Joe Morgan of Brewers.com reports that Gallardo will throw a bullpen session today to determine if he can make his start on Sunday or not. (Side note: Jimmy Nelson pitches for Nashville tonight.)
- Opponents of replay saw one of their fears happen in yesterday's game, as four replays were conducted, including two in a 47-minute seventh half-inning.
- Carlos Gomez was out of the lineup yesterday, but it was just a day off to deal with the continuing issues Gomez is having with his back.
- The boy that was hit in the head by a foul ball on Tuesday is now out of the hospital and doing well.
- Jonathan Lucroy has been a strong presence in the lineup during the Brewers offensive struggles, and Joe Morgan looks at his approach.
- The NL Central appears to be having a down year, and Peter Marzano of Call to the Pen looks at who could win the division.
- Stephen Hawkins of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel notes that former Brewer Prince Fielder is expected to have neck surgery and miss the rest of the season.
- Wandy Rodriguez is out of the division for now after the Pirates designated him for assignment yesterday. The corresponding move was to activate Russell Martin from the DL, who immediately had to serve his one-game suspension following his role in the Easter brawl.
