The Brewers will one of their best hitters back in the lineup Friday night as Carlos Gomez starting in center field after missing Thursday's game due to back pain. Since coming off of a three-game suspension, Gomez has played in three games and picked up five hits in 13 at-bats. He'll hit in the clean-up spot for the first time this season, moving from his customary lead-off role.
Unfortunately, Ryan Braun is out as he continues to deal with pain relating to the strained oblique that has already forced him to the DL once. Braun stayed on the roster a few days before finally hitting the DL last time, hopefully this is not a case of history repeating itself. In his place, Logan Schafer will play right field.
Jean Segura is back in the top half of the order, leading off. Segura did not start the season well, but has picked up the pace a little bit lately. He picked up three hits and a stolen base yesterday and is now hitting .324/.359/.378 over his last 10 games.
Marco Estrada will have a tough task today, going against the Marlins and their second-best runs per game average in the National League. The good news for Estrada is that his biggest problem has been giving up home runs and the Marlins are only the fourth-best home run hitting team in the league and...aw crud.
Go Brewers!
