In the second inning Matt Garza loaded the bases with nobody out on 2 singles and a walk, but then came back to strike out back-to-back batters and induced a grounder to get out of the inning. In the third he wasn't so lucky. With 2 on, Adam LaRoche cracked a home run off the batter's eye in center field. Those 3 runs were all the scoring on the night. All in all, Garza had a pretty fair outing-- 7 innings, 7 strikeouts, 2 walks, 5 hits, and the 3 earned runs.

The Brewers only managed 3 hits on the night-- a double for Ryan Braun and singles from Lucroy and Segura. They couldn't get a hit after the sixth inning. Carlos Gomez's on-base streak ended at 35 games and his hitting streak at 18 after a 12 pitch at-bat in the ninth.

Tonight's game was on ESPN and the highlight may have been Tim Kurkijan's participation in the sausage race. He wore the hot dog outfit and before after looking the wrong way when the starting gun went off, he brought up the rear by a very shocking margin. He told the broadcast both afterwards that is was "the most embarrassing moment of his life".
