Not much to say about this one. Wily Peralta and the Brewers' pitching were pretty good today. The offense was not.

The lineup managed just six hits today against the Cubs, all singles. Weirdly (considering there were no extra base hits), Mark 'Dingers' Reynolds led the team with two hits, the only Milwaukee player to get on base twice. Ryan Braun struck out twice, Jonathan Lucroy left three on board...nothing really went right, offensively. Kyle Hendricks and the Chicago bullpen pitched well.

So did Wily Peralta, just not quite as well. Peralta went 7.1 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks. It wasn't his best performance, but it was a good, solid effort. The Cubs scored a run in each of the second, fourth and sixth innings.

Oh well. A four game sweep was unlikely, even against a bad team like the Cubs. The Brewers will just have to take the next two.
