Gerardo Parra will be making his first start as a Milwaukee Brewer Saturday night against the Cardinals. Left fielder Khris Davis left Friday's game with calf tightness and will be given some time off as he is officially listed day-to-day.
Parra, acquired hours before the trade deadline from the Arizona Diamondbacks, received one at-bat after coming in for Davis. It was not a very successful debut with the team as he struck out. He'll hopefully have better luck against one of two big Cardinals trade pick-ups, Justin Masterson. Masterson has had an awful year so far; here's hoping that continues in his first start with St. Louis.
Meanwhile, Scooter Gennett is back in the lineup after missing Friday's contest with a bruised finger. The second baseman has missed time recently and hit just .267/.286/.433 in July. As the Brewers push towards the playoffs, they'll need Gennett to get back on track at the plate. Getting healthy is the first step in that.
