Brewers 2, Pirates 10: So many runners left on base

Untimely hitting doomed the Brewers. Some poor pitching didn't help.

Win: Edinson Volquez (11-7)
Loss: Wily Peralta (15-8)

HR: Scooter Gennett (9), Pedro Alvarez 2 (17), Russell Martin (7)

Boxscore

A very large portion of the Brewers' remaining schedule is against NL Central foes. Hopefully the remaining contests go a little better than these first two against the Pirates have. After an 8-3 mess of a game Friday, the Brewers fell 10-2 on Saturday.

Both teams finished with 12 hits but, clearly, Pittsburgh was able to take better advantage of his. Wily Peralta held strong for the first few innings, but fell apart later on.

Scooter Gennett, Lyle Overbay, Carlos Gomez, and Jonathan Lucroy all picked up a couple hits. But the Brewers left 25 runners on base. TWENTY FIVE. Twenty-five guys who just wanted to score, but couldn't. That's bad luck, and untimely hitting.

Hopefully the Brewers salvage a win tomorrow.
