Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers lineup against the Cardinals Saturday night. For now, it remains a mystery why he is out. Braun returned to the team yesterday after missing two games to be with his wife while she gave birth to the couple's first child. The fact Braun missed time so recently indicates that this is not simply a move to get him rest. Braun picked up a single in Milwaukee's win yesterday.
UPDATE: Looks like Braun's thumb is hurting too much for him to play.
#Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Ryan Braun is out because thumb is bothering him again.

Braun will take BP, though, and could be a late add to #Brewers lineup.

In his place, Gerardo Parra will take over in right field with Logan Schafer playing center field. The Brewers are already missing Carlos Gomez due to injury, of course.
The rest of the lineup is fairly typical. Left-handed Lyle Overbay is in at first base again with the team taking on righty Lance Lynn. Overbay also started yesterday and went 1-4.
Kyle Lohse will be looking to bounce back from an awful start. In 5.2 innings against the Giants earlier this week, he allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks. The Brewers will need a good outing if they hope to cut the Cardinals' division lead down further.
