World Series Game 1: Game Thread

The Mets travel to Kansas City to face the Royals in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets and the Royals were pretty much the only teams I was actively rooting against. Well, them and the Cardinals of course. I'm still a little salty at the Mets for the way they axed the Carlos Gomez deal--even though I vastly prefer the Astros deal. And I'm a petty person so I don't want another Missouri team to have success that Cardinals fans can live vicariously through.

All kidding aside, these are two very good teams. The Royals have a potent combination of contact, defense, and an elite bullpen. The Mets have a devastating rotation and a surprisingly effective offense. So who will come out the victor? I have no idea. But I do think this could be an excellent series of baseball games.
