Both NLDS Game 1 - Game Thread

After the American League got the early games to themselves, the late games are all for the National Leagues. Unfortunately, finding a team to cheer for could be a challenge.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

With the early games done (or nearly done, depending on the length of the second game), we now shift to the National League for two games to finish up the day.

Game 3: CHC @ STL - 5:30 pm CDT (TBS)

As a Brewers fan, asking to pick a winner for this series is like asking if you would rather be burned by the electric stove or the wood-burning stove. You don't want either to happen, but one is going to happen, so you have to choose. Well, you don't have to choose, but one is going to happen at some point.  At least it's a matchup of two of the best teams in baseball this year (by record). The Cardinals held the regular season advantage in the season with an 11-8 record.

Game 4: NYM @ LAD - 8:30 pm CDT (TBS)

Finishing up the day is a matchup of teams from the biggest markets. Despite that, their fortunes in recent years have been much different. The Dodgers have been in the playoffs for three straight years, while the Mets are back for the first time since 2006. The Mets have spent years digging themselves out of a big hole and are now starting to re-emerge as a yearly contender. Meanwhile, the Dodgers put in their years rebuilding, but now have plenty of money and have used it to solidify their team. So, even though it's two big markets, it doesn't have the same feel as a series like that. The Mets won the regular season series 4-3.
