Earlier today, the Brewers officially announced that they have signed Craig Counsell to a three-year contract through 2017 to be the next manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers held a press conference this morning at 10:30 am to officially announce Counsell as the new manager prior to tonight's game against the Dodgers. He replaces Ron Roenicke, who had held the position since 2011 and was relieved of his duties yesterday after a 7-18 start to the season.
Yesterday, 60% of you said that you agreed with the Brewers decision to fire Ron Roenicke. How do you feel about the decision to hire Craig Counsell? Did the Brewers make the right choice? Is the contract too long? Should they have made a longer search, or just named an interim manager and done a full search in the offseason? Vote in the poll below, and let us know why you voted the way you did in the comments section.
Edit: Additional note on the poll. Consider this hiring separate from the Roenicke firing. If you disagree with firing Roenicke, don't vote no in the poll because of that.
