Alcides Escobar led off with a single but was cut down trying to turn it into a double by Shane Peterson. It felt like this was going to be a good night. But then the next batter reached on a cheap bloop hit and Lorenzo Cain knocked a homer to deep left.

It no longer felt like it was going to be a good night, and it only got worse. Later in the fourth inning two more would reach and with one out the opposing pitcher Chris Young would chop a high one up the middle driving in two runs. Not terribly surprising that it was his first hit of the season considering he's a pitcher for an AL team, though all the more frustrating.

Wanna know what was even more frustrating? In the sixth inning Chris Young drove in another run with his second hit of the night. In the seventh inning Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run. Jarrod Dyson had a pinch hit RBI triple in the eighth. What stupid night.

The Brewers finally got on the board in the eighth inning. Hernan Perez was the catalyst. He singled and then got to third on a base hit from Gerardo Parra. Jonathan Lucroy drove Perez in with a single of his own.

Scooter Gennett was able to tack on another run with a solo home run in the ninth but it wasn't enough. They'd lose to the Royals 7-2. Their season record drops to 24-42.
