Win: Chris Rusin (3-2)
Loss: Matt Garza (4-9)
HR: Arenado (17)
Now in his tenth career major league season, Matt Garza has had an ERA over 5.00 once, when he was a rookie in 2006. After a loss to the Rockies Sunday, his ERA is now at 5.48, just 28 points from that career-worst 5.76 ERA.
He had a big jump in earned run average after giving up seven earned and three unearned runs to the Rockies over 5.1 innings. The Rockies got three in the third, three in the fourth, then four in the sixth as Garza allowed 13 hits and Hector Gomez missed a catch.
The Brewers offense managed four runs on 11 hits, with Ryan Braun, Gerardo Parra, Perez, and Shane Peterson all picking up a pair. Adam Lind also reached twice with a double and a walk. Milwaukee went just 3-13 with runners in scoring position, though.
Milwaukee has not lost eight of their last nine. They get a day off Monday, then a series against the Mets, with first pitch set for 7:10 CT on Tuesday.
