After some promising success of late, Matt Garza got back to losing on Monday. Over five innings pitched, Garza gave up five runs on eight hits while striking out just two batters. Garza had been pitching well since the beginning of July, but this looked more like the Garza we've been accustomed to for most of the year.

That performance made it difficult for the Brewers offense to keep up and, lo and behold, they didn't. The Brewers got a run in the second and a run in the fifth, but generally failed to get much going with just seven hits.

Jean Segura and Ryan Braun carried most of the offensive load, picking up two hits apiece. Braun also walked and drove in a run.

Another bright spot: Tyler Thornburg pitched two innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits while striking out two.

The Brewers and Marlins go again Tuesday, with first pitch set for 7:10 CT.
