Box Score

If the Brewers are trying to tank, they're doing it the right way. The last two weeks have been pretty bad, as they are now 3-12 in their last 15 games.

It was another game where the Brewers didn't get a good start from their starter. This time, it was Wily Peralta who struggled. In 4.2 innings, he allowed six runs, eight hits, and four walks. His ERA now sits at 4.72 for the season, a jump from the 3.53 ERA he posted last year. It has been a down year for him, and we will have to see if he can recover from this.

The Brewers did get a 2-0 lead early in the game. They scored two runs in the first, one on an error and another on a RBI single from Domingo Santana. They scored another three runs on home runs, two runs in the fifth from an Adam Lind home run and another in the eighth on a Khris Davis home run.

Meanwhile, in the bullpen, Tyler Thornburg pitched a clean 1.1 innings. Cesar Jimenez pitched the seventh inning and allowed three runs on four hits. David Goforth loaded the bases to start the eighth inning, but pitched out of it with no runs allowed.

The Brewers will try to rebound with a win tomorrow. With Jimmy Nelson out for the season, the Brewers will go with a bullpen day on Tuesday. Tyler Cravy will start the bullpen game for the Brewers, and Cubs ace Jake Arrieta will start for the Cubs. First pitch is at 7:05 pm.
