Well this is. This is the final match-up between the division (and MLB) leading St. Louis Cardinals. It's been a long and disappointing year for the Brewers but they still have a chance to do something relevant to the playoffs. They can still help the Pirates overtake the Cards for first place.
The Cardinals have just a 4 game lead on the Pirates going into the first game of this series. That means the Brewer can't entirely knock them out of first place but they can help the Pirates tie them. Of course the Pirates will have to stop flailing around as this was the same situation the last time the Brewers played the Cards.
Looking at the pitching match-ups it's going to be a tall order for the Brewers to walk away with a series win let alone a sweep of the best team in baseball. It's nothing against the Brewers pitchers. They're just putting forth some of their best pitching prospects against the Cardinals best veteran pitchers.
