Brew Crew Ball Community Top Prospects Vote: #18

Marcos Diplan survives another late morning push to slip into the poll at No. 17

The late push by the #TeamDiplan camp to get Marcos into the top 20 has succeeded in it's second attempt, and once again the #17 spot in our countdown is filled by a prospect who seemingly gained steam out of nowhere. There's nothing inappropriate about the ranking though -- Diplan's composite ranking between the sites we have listed is 15.67, so we've actually underrated him compared to the experts.

Yesterday, the Brewers claimed lefty Sean Nolin, who was waived by the Athletics as part of the Khris Davis trade, which essentially made that trade a 3-for-1 deal. Today, we add Nolin to our countdown. Like yesterday's addition to the poll, Wei-Chung Wang, Nolin has technically exceeded his eligibility for rookie status, but we're not bound by any laws governing such here. There's only one law here, folks, the law of the jungle: kill or be killed. Nolin was a part of the Josh Donaldson trade that also included Brett Lawrie, Kendall Graveman and A's top prospect Franklin Barreto. Here's your list so far:

1. SS Orlando Arcia 11. LHP Kodi Medeiros
2. OF Brett Phillips 12. SS Isan Diaz
3. RHP Jorge Lopez 13. OF Clint Coulter
4. OF Trent Clark 14. OF Monte Harrison
5. LHP Josh Hader 15. OF Demi Orimoloye
6. SS Gilbert Lara 16. OF Tyrone Taylor
7. C Jacob Nottingham 17. RHP Marcos Diplan
8. RHP Cody Ponce 18.
9. RHP Zach Davies 19.
10. RHP Devin Williams 20.

Again, if you need a little guidance, here are the organizational lists that have been released up to this point. Our list will of course supersede all of them as the definitive Brewers prospects ranking once complete:

Minor League Ball
Baseball America
Baseball Prospectus: 1-1011-20

Voting will be live until the following day (or Monday, for polls posted on Friday) at noon for each poll in this countdown. If at any point there's a player you would have voted for and think others would as well, just let me know in the comments.
