Not even a rain delay could keep the Brewers from completing the sweep of the Braves.
Atlanta got the early lead with a two-run home run off of Wily Peralta in the first inning. The Braves would get a total of seven runs and two walks off of Peralta, but they would not get any more runs after that. Peralta pitched a total of 5 1/3 innings in the game before coming on in the sixth inning.
Meanwhile, it took the Brewers a few innings to get on the board. They tied the game in the fourth inning, when Wily Peralta hit an RBI single with the bases loaded to score two runs and tie the game at 2-2. Then, in the fifth inning, Ryan Braun hit a solo run to give the Brewers at 3-2.
The Brewers would add on another run in the seventh inning off of a Jonathan Villar solo home run. After that, the rain began falling and a rain delay was called. The game would be delayed for over an hour as a slow moving pocket of rain passed through the area. Jhan Marinez came in for relief in the bottom of the sixth, and returned after the rain delay to pitch the seventh. He loaded the bases but did not allow any runs to score.
Carlos Torres pitched a clean eighth inning, then the Brewers offense added on two more runs with an RBI triple from Hernan Perez. Torres finished the game, allowing a walk and completing the sweep.
Jonathan Villar and Aaron Hill each had two hits in the game to lead the offense. Hernan Perez and Wily Peralta each drove in two runs as well.
The Brewers come back home for a six-game homestand starting tomorrow against the Reds. John Lamb faces Zach Davies in the opener of the three-game series. First pitch is at 7:10 pm.
