Welp...this game went to hell pretty darn quickly. Chase Anderson gave up a 5 spot in the first inning, including a 3-run home run to longtime Brewers nemesis Jay Bruce. In Anderson's defense, the defense let him down a bit. Kirk Nieuwenhuis took a poor route on a fly ball in center and dropped it. Then a couple batters later Jonathan Villar airmailed a throw to first costing the Brewers an out. The defense, however, couldn't do anything about Brandon Phillips 2-run HR in the second inning.

The Brewers would wait until the fifth inning to answer back. Jonathan Lucroy got drilled in the ribs, putting him at first. Then Kirk Nieuwenhuis grounded out, allowing Luc to get to second. Aaron Hill followed up with a single that the Brewers catcher was able to leg out a run. Alex Presley would make things kind of interesting for a little bit with his 2-run HR in the 8th inning. Chris Carter would crush a home run deep to dead center--like seriously, it was a huge blast.. And later Nieuwenhuis would come around to score after hitting a double in the same inning. But alas, it was all for naught.

Back in the 8th inning Adam Duvall followed Presley's 2-run HR with one of his own. And ultimately the Reds would win this one by a score of 9-4. They now take a half game lead over the Brewers.
