Prior to tonight’s game against the Athletics, the Brewers made a roster move, placing Hernan Perez on the paternity list and recalling Yadiel Rivera. Perez’s wife just had a baby girl, and Perez will be gone for a few days with his wife. In the meantime, the Brewers have recalled Yadiel Rivera to fill Perez’s roster spot while he is gone. Since the paternity list is limited to three days, Rivera will likely only be up for the Athletics series before heading back to Colorado Springs.

Since returning to Colorado Springs last month, Rivera has struggled at the plate. He has recorded a batting line of .246/.295/.328 in 31 games covering 132 plate appearances, along with a 27:6 K:BB ratio. In 17 games covering 47 plate appearances with the Brewers, his batting line is .196/.213/.261 with an 18:1 K:BB ratio. He will provide infield depth while Perez is out, as well as a bat off the bench.
