Brewers Outright Ramon Flores to AAA
Five days ago the Brewers designated outfielder Ramon Flores for assignment to clear room for Domingo Santana's activation from the disabled list. Flores is out of minor league options, but there was apparently no other team willing to place him on their 40 man roster spot at this time as it has been announced that he's cleared waivers and has been outrighted to AAA Colorado Springs. Flores, 24, was acquired from Seattle in the offseason in exchange for shortstop Luis Sardinas (who has since been dealt to the Padres after being DFA'd himself). Ramon made the Opening Day roster and received a good deal of playing time during the season, but managed only a .205/.294/.261 slash line with 2 homers in 289 plate appearances. He is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but he graded out better in left field than he did in center or right. Flores is still young enough that he could make good on the promise he had when he was ranked as a top-15 prospect within the Yankees organization back in 2014. Statistics courtesy of Fangraphs
