As the Arizona Fall League comes to a close, the rosters for the league's all-star game are being announced.

The Fall Stars game is typically based more on prospect pedigree than production -- think of it as the fall counterpart to the All-Star break's Rising Stars game -- but the Brewers still managed to get two players named to the game. Outfielder Corey Ray and infielder Jake Gatewood will represent the East in this weekend's game.

Neither player hit particularly well this fall playing for the Salt River Rafters, but will get another chance to impress any scouts in attendance. Gatewood went just 3-for-26 in 8 games, striking out 10 times. Ray got a bit more playing time, but also struggled at the plate, going 8-for-44. He at least had 3 doubles among those 8 hits, driving in 3 runs. Both Gatewood and Ray also stole 2 bases each.

This will be the second prospect showcase for Ray this year. He also played in this year’s Rising Stars game in Miami.

While they may not have necessarily earned their spots based on merit, the truth is the league needs to fill out two full rosters, and they'll likely just be depth. Still, if they do see action, it will at least be on a bigger stage and will give them a chance to go into the offseason on a positive note.

The game will be played on Saturday night at 7 p.m. CDT ON MLB Network and MLB.com.
