Rob Scahill elects minor league free agency
Another Milwaukee Brewer joined the growing list of players that have filed early for minor league free agency over the weekend. Jim Goulart of Brewerfan.net reported that righty reliever Rob Scahill has joined Wily Peralta, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Michael Blazek, and David Goforth on the open market. The Brewers confirmed those reports over the weekend via their official player development Twitter account. Scahill, 30, joined the org as a waiver claim in 2016. He was up and down a few times this season and ultimately appeared in 18 MLB games, tallying a 4.43 ERA but 5.75 FIP across 22.1 MLB innings in 2017. (Statistics courtesy of Fangraphs)
