The slow offseason for the Brewers continued through the end of the Winter Meetings, but it did get a little bit of intrigue over the weekend. Reports came out on Saturday that the Brewers are bringing back Yovani Gallardo on a major-league deal, after he was released by the Mariners when they declined to pick up his option. Gallardo has struggled in recent years, and it’s unclear what his role with the Brewers would be. We don’t know much about the deal yet, and it’s not official as it awaits a physical on Gallardo. However, depending on the terms, it could be an interesting gamble for the Brewers. Returning to where he had his most success could end up being beneficial for Gallardo, and if he gets back on track, it could be a nice pickup overall. We’ll have to wait for more details before knowing if this is a good deal or not.
