Today is the 70th anniversary of the day Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier, making a start for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. Every team across Major League Baseball will honor Robinson today by once again wearing his #42, just as they have since the league established Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, 2004.
Your Milwaukee Brewers will do so looking to continue their first winning streak of the young season. Winners of their past four games, the Brewers will hope to keep the bats hot this afternoon and clinch a series win against the Cincinnati Reds.
Zach Davies will take the mound for the Brew Crew, and while Great American Ballpark may not seem like a great place for a guy who's started the year allowing 11 runs in 9.1 innings (10.61 ERA) to pitch, but there's some hope for optimism -- last year, Davies had a similar rough start (a 9.72 ERA in his first two starts) before turning things around and posting a 3.66 ERA in his remaining 26 starts.
First pitch is 12:10 p.m. CDT.
