The final roster spots were decided over the weekend, as Taylor Jungmann earned one of the final spots in the bullpen. Both Tyler Cravy and Rob Scahill ended up missing the cut, and neither were happy about it. Cravy was the more vocal one, going as far as to say he might quit (he later said he will report and has no intention to quit).
The final spot on the roster went to a signing right before the roster deadline, as the Brewers added veteran pitcher Jared Hughes to the bullpen.
Two players that missed the Opening Day roster are Andrew Susac and Matt Garza, who will both start the season on the disabled list.
In a scary moment in Saturday’s game, Rene Garcia ended up colliding with White Sox player Nicky Delmonico on a play at the plate and remained on the ground for several minutes. He eventually was carted off the field and taken to the hospital for tests. Luckily, he only sustained some swelling in his knee, though has also been put in the concussion protocol as a precaution.
