It hasn’t been a good start to the season for the Brewers. Three innings into the first game, they are already down 2-0. It got worse in the bottom of the third inning, though. Orlando Arcia led off the inning with a base hit. Junior Guerra came up to follow and laid down a successful bunt. However, Guerra ran to first limping, and had to come out of the game. Tommy Milone immediately began warming up in the bullpen, and replaced Guerra to start the fourth inning.
Jeff Levering reported on the radio broadcast that Guerra has a right calf strain. No word yet on how much time Guerra will miss, but at least the news isn’t too bad. Should Guerra need to miss a start or two, the Brewers can place him on the new 10-day DL and recall another pitcher. With an off day next week, Guerra would only have to miss one start this way.
We will update this post later when we have more information on Junior Guerra’s injury.
