Opening Day was pretty much a nightmare for the Milwaukee Brewers. Staff ace Junior Guerra went down with what could be a fairly serious calf injury after just three innings, the team had to use 7 pitchers to get through the game and there were multiple defensive miscues. Despite all of that, the end result was just a loss by two runs.
If there were signs of hope, it's that the bats quickly made up a 4-0 deficit, scoring 5 runs in a single inning to steal the lead.
The Brewers will hope to build on that in Game 2, while also crossing their fingers that Zach Davies can give them a strong outing to give the bullpen a breather after a taxing first day.
First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. CDT.
