The Brewers had the day off.
Brewers News and Notes
The first day of the MLB draft is done. The Brewers had three selections entering the day, and used them on a college player and two high school players. First up was second baseman Keston Hiura out of UC-Irvine, considered one of the best hitters in the college class. Next up was outfielder Tristen Lutz, an outfielder that the Brewers were considering with their first pick, but ended up getting in the competitive balance round. Last up in day one was high school pitcher Caden Lemons, who has four potential pitches and a 97 MPH fastball.
It’s a busy day for the Brewers today. In addition to the Brewers double-header in St. Louis, they have eight more selections to make in the draft today. At some point this morning, we should hear about the Brewers’ call-up for the double-header, and then coverage of day two of the draft will take place while the Brewers are playing their first game of the day.
