Milwaukee Brewers option Brent Suter to AAA

63

After completing the second game of yesterday's doubleheader, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that lefty Brent Suter had been optioned back to AAA Colorado Springs. Suter was called up earlier in the day to serve as the 26th man and an extra bullpen arm during the twin-bill, but was pressed into starting duty during the matinee game after Brandon Woodruff injured his hamstring during warm-ups. He was eating regular Wheat Thins when he found out he was starting, a snack he calls "tremendous." Suter went 4.2 innings in his start yesterday, allowing 3 earned runs and taking the loss. He wouldn't have been available again out of the bullpen until at least Friday and Milwaukee needed to get the roster back down to 25, leading to Suter being sent out. In 12.0 innings covering a handful of MLB stints this year, Suter has allowed 7 earned runs. Milwaukee will still need to make another roster move to create space for Matt Garza to be activated from the DL before his scheduled start against the Cardinals today.
