Milwaukee Brewers to place Chase Anderson on disabled list

24

After yesterday's game, the Brewers announced that Chase Anderson will be placed on the disabled list with a strained left oblique. He faces a lengthy layoff, which Anderson himself speculated could be "a month, it could be two months. Hopefully nothing longer than that." He likened the sharp pain he felt after striking out in the 1st inning to being stabbed in the left side. Anderson had been one of the top starting pitchers in the National League this season, posting a 2.89 ERA across 90.1 innings pitched. No word yet on who will replace him on the active roster in the short term, or which pitcher will take his slot in the starting rotation.
