All-Star Week is a week and a half away, and while the rosters for the main game will be announced later this week, there is a prospect game happening on the Sunday prior to that, featuring some of the top prospects in baseball. The rosters for the game were announced earlier today, and three of the Brewers top prospects will be featured: Lewis Brinson, Mauricio Dubon, and Corey Ray. Brinson and Ray will play on the US Team, while Dubon will be part of the World Team.

Lewis Brinson, rated the top prospect in the Brewers system entering this season, made his debut with the Brewers this season while Ryan Braun was on the disabled list. While his initial major league appearance was lackluster, he has still been raking in the minors, posting a .323/.405/.540 batting line, with eight home runs and 31 RBI. Though he didn’t stick in the majors with his first appearance, he should get another shot at some point, whether that comes this season or another.

Meanwhile, Brinson may get to patrol the outfield in the game with another Brewers prospect, Corey Ray. This season, Ray has played for Carolina, and it’s been a little bit of a struggle for him. He’s posted a line of .255/.332/.396 with 4 home runs and 31 RBI, though he has also stolen 18 bases. The strikeout rate is a little concerning at 34.9%, but he’s also just 22 years old, meaning there’s plenty of time for him to figure that out, and his #2 ranking on the Brewers prospect list shows just how highly regarded he is.

On the other side, Mauricio Dubon will be playing for the World Team. Dubon recently earned a promotion to Triple-A after a strong season in Biloxi, posting a .276/.338/.351 batting line and stealing 31 bases so far this season. At just 22 years old (set to turn 23 in July), Dubon could be a steal that the Brewers got from trading Tyler Thornburg over the offseason.

The Futures Game is set to take place on Sunday, July 9 at 3 pm on MLB Network.
