Stephen Vogt leaves game after home plate collision

Stephen Vogt started tonight's game behind the plate for the Milwaukee Brewers, but had to leave the game in the bottom of the fifth. Vogt was involved in a collision at home plate with Pirate pitcher Chad Kuhl, who was attempting to score on a single by Francisco Cervelli. Domingo Santana threw in time to home plate but there was a violent collision between Kuhl and Vogt, leaving both quite shaken up. Kuhl quickly walked off under his own power, but Vogt was down for several minutes before getting up and walking off the field. In 30 PA since joining the Brewers via waiver claim prior to tonight, Vogt had hit .269/.333/.731 with 4 home runs. He was replaced in the game by Manny Pina. Per the team's Twitter account, Vogt is being evaluated for a neck strain and a left knee strain, apparently avoiding a concussion. (Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference)
