Brewers' top prospect Lewis Brinson to miss 4-6 weeks with hamstring strain

32

Just moments after announcing positive injury news for two important MLB contrbutors, the Milwaukee Brewers released some distressing news regarding their top prospect. Outfielder Lewis Brinson came up lame while running to first during yesterday's Sky Sox game and today it was determined that he'll miss between 4 and 6 weeks with a left hamstring strain. The club wouldn't rule out a possible September call-up, though, if he's able to recover before the end of the regular season. Ranked as the league's #15 prospect by MLB Pipeline, Brinson has hit .331/.400/.562 (145 wRC+) with 13 homers and 11 steals in 76 games with Colorado Springs this season. He also made his big league debut but slashed a meager .106/.236/.277 with 2 homers and a steal in 21 games. (Statistics courtesy of Fangraphs)
