Milwaukee Brewers activate Matt Garza, option Wei-Chung Wang to AAA
Following the conclusion of last night's game, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that Wei-Chung Wang had been optioned to AAA Colorado Springs. Wang, 25, made it back to the majors this season for the first time since he was a Rule 5 Draft pick in 2014. He made only one appearance and faced just one batter in his most recent stint, allowing a single. He did hit 96 MPH with his fastball, though, which was unexpected and cool. Wang will return to Colorado Springs, where he's posted a 2.09 ERA in 47.1 innings in relief this season. He'll likely be back in September, if not before then. His option clears the way for the return of Matt Garza from the DL, who is scheduled to start this afternoon's game. Garza has made a few trips to the DL this year, but he's been effective when healthy. In 82.1 innings, the Count owns a 3.83 ERA. (Statistics courtesy of Fangraphs)
