Brewers' prospect Isan Diaz out for remainder of season with fractured hamate

14

The season has come to an early end for the 2016 minor league player of the year in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Todd Rosiak reported today that Isan Diaz fractured his right hamate (a bone in the wrist) and had surgery on Wednesday to repair it. This brings his 2017 season to an early end, though with the minor-league season ending this weekend, there wasn't much time left in the season anyway. Diaz has played his whole season for the High-A Carolina Mudcats, recording a .222/.334/.376 batting line with a 104 wRC+ in 110 games. (Statistics courtesy of FanGraphs.)
