Joey Votto to Brewers

If the Brewers are really going to go for World Series, I sincerely believe that David Stearns should make a trade for Joey Votto.

Cincinnati is a rebuilding team that could use all sorts of pieces that could help them in the long term.

Votto's WAR was 7.5 last year. His OBP is off the charts. He would provide leadership, protection and stability in the lineup. In his career he has hit .344 in Miller Park, .321 in Wrigley, .333 at Busch Stadium, and .315 and PNC and .305 and Great American. He scores runs, is clutch, and he would not be doing it against the Brewers.

I know he is 34, but the Brewers need 4 more wins to safely secure a playoff berth. I could see the Reds being interested in Lewis Brinson and Isan Diaz who are arguably 1 and 5 on our prospect list. I would also give them Jesus Aguilar who has upside at first base. In return you get a future Hall of Famer that will put you in a position to win the division for several years, and we can afford his big contract. That will give the Reds some pieces and will cement the Brewers in first place.

I think Votto deserves a chance at the World Series.
