It’s been a slow offseason to this point, but a sign that winter is almost over is here -- the team is announcing its (tentative) list of attendees for this year’s Brewers On Deck event, scheduled for January 28th at the Wisconsin Center.
It’s a chance to meet players in person, and this year, a total of 34 players are scheduled to attend. That includes the big names like Ryan Braun, Travis Shaw, Domingo Santana, Eric Thames, Jimmy Nelson, Chase Anderson and Corey Knebel, but also several of the organization’s next wave of talent. Among the team’s top prospects expected to be there are Lewis Brinson, Corbin Burnes, Monte Harrison and Keston Hiura.
Several members of the coaching staff -- including manager Craig Counsell -- will also be there, as well as members of the front office and broadcasting teams.
A dozen Brewers legends and alumni are also being announced for the event, including Robin Yount, Cecil Cooper, Rollie Fingers, Gorman Thomas and Jeff Cirillo.
A full schedule of events for the day is yet to be announced, but players and some alumni will be signing autographs. Those autographs will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, with each player being limited to signing for 250 people. The cost of the autographs depend on who’s signing, and range from free to $25.
All of the proceeds from the autographs and a portion of the entrance fees ($15 for adults, $9 for kids in advance; $20 for adults and $15 for kids in cash only day-of) go to the Brewers Community Foundation. The team will also be collecting food donations for the Hunger Task Force at the door.
You can find a full list of scheduled attendees here. As always, the card is subject to change -- and the Brewers have been known to make a splash right before the event.
