Wei-Chung Wang gets $900K deal from NC Dinos
Though it's been rumored to be in the works for weeks, Wei-Chung Wang's tumultuous tenure with the Milwaukee Brewers officially ended earlier this week when he was released to make room for the signing of Lorenzo Cain. As expected, he'll head to Korea to join the NC Dinos for the 2018 season. The left-hander netted a $900K deal from the KBO ballclub, including a $200K signing bonus. That's significantly more than the MLB's league minimum of $545K, and Wang didn't look like he factored into Milwaukee's plans for next season. Wang was a reliever at the MLB level for the Brewers, but spent most of his minor league career as a starter and figures to return to that role in Korea. He will become the first Taiwanese-born player in the league's history.
