Milwaukee Brewers re-sign Gabriel Noriega to minor league deal
The stove continues to emanate heat around Milwaukee, with the Brewers signing not only one, but two players today. First was the reported deal with reliever Matt Albers and now, the Brewers have announced that they've re-signed minor league infielder Gabriel Noriega for 2018. The 27 year old minor league veteran posted a .558 OPS in 82 games between AA and AAA in 2017 and owns just a .616 OPS across 10 minor league seasons. He has never appeared in the big leagues. Noriega can play second base, third base, and shortstop, and will figures to provide some upper minors depth for the organization in 2018. (Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference)
