Milwaukee Brewers sign Jake Hager to minor league deal

11

Yesterday afternoon the Milwaukee Brewers announced the signing of infielder Jake Hager to a minor league pact via their player development Twitter account. Hager, who will turn 25 in March, was the #32 overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Rays but has yet to appear in the big leagues. A knee injury slowed his career and caused him to miss the entire 2015 season. Hager has appeared in 576 games in his minor league career and is a .258/.308/.357 hitter with 26 home runs and 48 steals. He's been primarily a shortstop but has also appeared at second base and third base, and he'll likely see some time at all three positions while serving as upper-minors depth for the Brewers this season.
